I have found some wild mantis in the past and raised them but was never bitten.

However, now I bought several nymphs and two of them seem to really enjoy biting me. Since they are so small, I barely feel it.

However, what should you do if a larger mantis decides to try to eat you.

I imagine the larger adults could break skind and it would be very painful. AM I wrong?

How do you get them to stop without hurting them?

Don't hold them to begin with, or mist them more often so they are not thirsty (a common reason they nibble), or if they are firmly grasping you, spray them with cold water.

Usually they won't just bite you unless you grab them. If it seems they are nibbling or rubbing their mouth across your skin it means they sense the moisture in your skin and need water like Jesse said.

nothing wrong with a nibble.. :D

as said misting more often is a good way of stopping that :D
