    Bugfest pics and thanks

That ooth collection is impressive! You can buy dead mantids, but I don't think ooths are really sold. Really shows your immense experience with these amazing animals! :)

    Cretaceous Mantids

Post some sentences that you want help understanding and I'll try my best to translate them. :) Also, does anyone know if there are any prehistoric mantids with longer pronotums, e.g. Tenodera and Hierodula?

    i want this mantis..Idolomantis diabolica?

also, that's pretty ungrateful of them to ignore all the time and energy you spent in setting up that elaborate set up of branches and just hang right above them. would removing all the branches somehow affect the mantises even though they seem to completely ignore them?

    world's largest praying mantis

going back to my earlier post, that's unreasonable. proof does not always come in the form of materialness. how do we know for sure that christopher colombus discovered the americas? how do we know the chinese invented gunpowder? we weren't there physically, but we can still prove things...

    Forgotten eel dies.

sorry about your loss. i get teary-eyed over dead fish too. :o burrowing fish/eels are actually healthy for the tank by the way. they aerate the gravel, which help inhibit the growth of anaerobic bacteria in the gravel that release harmful chemicals and gases.

    world's largest praying mantis

this is such a lazy and reckless rebuttal. 1. the same goes to you - you can not say with 100% certainty as well that that is correct. 2. given the great amount we know about mantises, it is UNREASONABLE to even believe it's quite probable. OCCAM'S RAZOR.

    cockroach id

i'm no roach expert, but how are you guys so sure this little fella is a nymph? some species don't develop wings as an adult (just as with some mantis species too). number of abdominal segments? also, did you smother the fella with sand because that's his natural habitat? pretty cool looking...

    i want this mantis..Idolomantis diabolica?

it should not be a surprise whatsoever that only some mantises have arolias (suction cup pads found at the tarsal base between the tarsal claws). it's quite common that only certain members of any given insect group possess arolias while others in the group do not. in the wild, arolias allow...
