    Excited about fruit flies!

    First times are always interesting aren't they. I remember being intrigued by them little maggots crawling around. Im glad you are enjoying success with your culturing. There's several more things you can grow for live foods and tons of info on here how to do so. Roaches, black soldier flies...

    Theres a fellow on here who has posted some updated stuff on many if not all north american species. That might be a good place to start, Im trying to recall his user name..

    Who gives a  truck? Ever have mantis shrimp? They're foot long ocean mantids, though I've heard them called cockroaches of the sea... I would love some as pets and some as food : D

    If you use the net to check out the average temperatures in the region your mantid of interest comes from, thatd be one way to get an idea, but besides the common chinese and european mantids any north american species should be fine.
