In your opinion what is the strangest/most stunning species of mantis you know of?

Majangella have stunning features. I wish they were more obtainable.

I made a vertical mantis enclosure out of a kritter keeper, well I tried anyways.

I ended up cutting a ziplock bag in half and fitting it to the keeper. I think it looks much better now, and more importantly, alot more functional. Here's a picture, mantis included :) . I've never been very good at artsy craftsy stuff like this so I'm happy I made something that functions as...

Sorry for the dark pictures, flash is a bum.

I made a vertical mantis enclosure out of a kritter keeper, well I tried anyways.

I got bored and decided I didn't like the kritter keepers my mantids were in since they were so unoptimized for mantids. hot glue guns and boredom go hand in hand. The first thing I needed to deal with was the heavy slant that occurred on the "top" (side). This wasn't an idea I came up with out...

Is this an appropriate size for a small blatta lateralis colony?

The reason for the smaller container is so they only populate to a certain point. I only have a few inverts so having a giant colony would be a huge waste. I was planning on replacing the tubes whenever they get gross but I'll give the cork bark some thought. The fiberglass screening insures...

Is this an appropriate size for a small blatta lateralis colony?

I ended up picking up some water crystals. I plan on feeding them dog food for protein with oranges or apples. Leftover fruit really. How long would it take for them to start producing?

Is this an appropriate size for a small blatta lateralis colony?

I only have 4 mantids and 2 ts, so I don't require very many. Sub is about an inch deep. If the colony gets too big for me I plan to control their breeding by sticking them someplace slightly cooler until I'm comfortable with their numbers again. I ordered about 50. New at this so this is...

I misted my blue bottle fly pupae too much, and now there's mold.

Well that sucks. Thanks for the info. At least I know now so I won't do this in the future.

I misted my blue bottle fly pupae too much, and now there's mold.

I've heard humidity and heat helps them hatch faster.

I misted my blue bottle fly pupae too much, and now there's mold.

I checked the container because I was worried they weren't going to hatch and found some mold in the bottom. Will mold kill bb fly pupae? I have it in front of a heater drying out.

Do reptile shows generally sell mantids?

Just google your state reptile show. They're normally monthly.

Do reptile shows generally sell mantids?

Going to a reptile show on the 10th and I was wondering if selling mantids was a normal occurrence at them or not.

    Sexing an l3 parasphendale agrionina

She has her butt up alot so that helped. I shined a flashlight on her and it looks like her last segment is one big segment as opposed to being a few.

    Sexing an l3 parasphendale agrionina

I figured it out. I was confused because the top side made it look like there were a lot more segments than there were. She's female :) . Thanks for the reply.

    Sexing an l3 parasphendale agrionina

I know the pictures are of bad quality, it's hard to take pictures of something so small. Can somebody sex this for me? I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

    Are these fruit fly pupae?

Thanks for the advice. I woke up with about 10 or 15 hatched. I was able to feed them. I'll take more precautions in the future by getting more when I get low or they start to die off.

    Are these fruit fly pupae?

About 3 or 4 days ago. I have wax worms but they aren't interested.

    Are these fruit fly pupae?

Definitely fresh pupa. Maggots squirming around in various places. Disgusting. There's still media in there but they depleted it FAST. Thanks for the replies.
