    Texas Unicorns hatched

Any idea when these should start molting? I’m guessing any day now. They are eating and no die offs!

I'm getting violins, but they seem impossible to feed!

For your first species, Violins may be a bit tough if you’re trying to figure out how to feed them flies. ghosts are awesome and much more tolerant of temps. That said, i don’t have a ton of experience and my violins did fine. When i don’t have flies, the larger nymphs will eat roach nymphs

    Deli cup options

I’ll be shipping a lot of the babies off so glass isn’t my 1st choice. I keep my personal collection in mason jars a lot.

    Deli cup options

Im looking to buy a bunch of deli cups for young mantids and centipedes. Buying this much single use plastic makes me feel lazy. Any eco friendly options?

    Texas Unicorns hatched

Peeked in the incubator and saw that one of the ooths hatched! According to the caresheet, this species can be housed together for awhile. Any experience with that? Putting them in a group enclosure now but will change if necessary. Pics soon.

    Violin mismolt

So one of my violins mismolted 3 weeks ago and lost two legs. For the first 2 weeks he was perching and hanging just fine. He (i think it’s a he) recently started falling and struggling a lot.  The other violins in the enclosure have had a few molts and no problems.  I was considering putting...

    Interesting article

Its just amazing that inverts(mantids, tarantulas, centipedes, scorpions, who knows what else!) have been taking large vertebrate prey forever and for most people this is the first time hearing it. PLUS, mantids do it without venom. Any other nonvenomous inverts that take large prey?

    Centi Lauper

Haven’t been bitten. This species is super docile and mild venom according to rumors.  I have a few heros that i am too scared to attempt to handle. Venom sounds too much for me. and thanks for the compliments. She’s a great specimen

    Centi Lauper

Centipedes creep me out like no other animal. I was so surprised at how much of a legit fear response I have with them.  It’s been fun to work through some of that. But...... a few of my other ones are by no means docile and scare the out of me.

    Centi Lauper

Scolopendra white legs. She’s super docile and coming in at 6.5” only about half of what she’ll be in a few years.

    First Vivarium

Nice! Some local springtails would be fun to watch populate. Not as much star power as a crestie but fun nonetheless.
