This small wingless female has laid a 1/4 inch long ootheca. Found in Costa Rica, and not a clue of what specie she is. Hope the ooth is fertile.

I guess this is an ootheca level question. How many instars a praying mantis has? I only can find information that mentions 7, and that some have up to 10. Has someone ever made a chart of the numbers of instars for each specie? Do some individuals in a specific specie can molt more than...
