hi folks, i am doing a presentation on mantids at our local school for several classrooms in about 2 weeks and do not currently have any mantids.  does anybody have some live adults they could send to me?  i just need about 4 different species.   we are in northern california. thanks! susan

i understand that females reach sexual maturity about a month after molting.  same with males?  my male orchid just molted - should i wait a month to attempt mating to my female mantis, who molted about 2 months ago.

hi folks, the batch of fly pupae i ordered never hatched. my orchids won't eat crickets of any size. (my ghosts will but they are not big fans) i am able to get some dubia roaches. if they don't like crickets, will they eat dubias? any other suggestions until i can get some more bb or house...

i've read that male orchids molt 6 times to adult and females molt 7 times? is this correct? didn't see anything in the posted caresheet to verify. can both females and males fly?

here's the pic of the mating pair. the size differential (he is bigger) is creating an issue with contact.

are there different species of chinese? do i have the same species? female on right, male on left. size difference is even more apparent in person. i raised the female from L1 - she has 6 segments and very round abdomen. the male is wild caught, slender and at least 1.5 x her size.
