It will be 4 weeks tomorrow since my male H. Majuscula molted to adulthood. I have been feeding my females like crazy to fatten them up. They seem to eat forever. I think I am going to mate them free range in my bug room this weekend. I am kinda concerned because no matter how much I feed my females they seem to still eat more. I don't want my male to be eaten before the dead is done. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Like how do I separate them after they have been mating for a while? I have two females and one male. I think he has enough lovin for the both of them. And

I have been seeing this bulbous thing coming out of the end of my male the last couple of days. Is this a sign of maturity?

Update: I just feed everyone and my male and a female are not eating. Is this as good a time as any?

Mine mated outside the cage. We just put the female in front and made her walk, which made him go all crazy. He mounted her immediately. This happened twice.

Thanks. Great info. How do you separate? I have one male and two females. Should I just pry them apart with a bamboo skewer?

i waited for them to be done

he wuz connected 26 hours

after disconnecting he will still be mounted

if u disturb the female enough and get her moving he will panic, then hold out your hand for him to crawl on and he will get the heck off lol

Thank you so much Agent A. 26 hours?! It's gonna be long night.

OK. I'm gonna give it a shot right now.

Mine did not eat the male, he is still alive, but all 3 girls are not laying, been a month! grannyma is tired of waiting, they are all fat, might have to boil them in oil! :tt2:

If they are not mounting, and they are well fed, try separation for a day or so and increasing the temperature somewhat.

trying again today. Last night he just kinda walk right over her like she was a speed bump. Today it looked like he was going to do that again, but he stopped short. So he is on her, but he is crooked.

Their butts are kinda far apart and he is just looking at her like this for an hour now. She doesn't seem to mind though.

Should I separate and try again later? or just let them be? Does it usually take this long? My budwing seemed to know what to do and mounted perfectly right away.
