Cool photos! It's nice to show the comparison of the adult vs. the nymph. I tried this with one species, but it didn't work out.

I had (until today) two female Sphodromantis sp "Blue flash" mantids. Just before I saw your post, I had to put one of my female Blue Flash in the freezer. It was her time. I got her from Yen in March. Well, technically, I didn't get her until May as Precarous babysat her for me while I was in Arizona for three weeks in April.

The first picture is the best. Looks like the little one's pulling the antenna apart and saying peek-a-boo. Not like we wouldn't see him anyway. Silly little bug.

Awesome shots! I liked all of 'em but grinned the most at the third, catching the same-pose grooming session is too cool. Did you notice where the nymph's rear left leg (in the foreground) appears to be standing on!?

SilentDevil: No, the nimph still alive :D

Lunastorm, In the third photo, the leg is in strange position, i see, I dont know why(The forced position I think)...But I love that the mama´s and the son having the same positiion, I´m lucky for take the photo just at the moment. xD

Best regards and thanks for the comments :D :D

Very cool shots. I've never seen anything similar. I'll have to try that someday....looks like a challenge.
