I personally have never had issues but such delays, and even delays lasting weeks are too common. I know some breeders like FunSizedZoo are planning on transitioning to a different, more reliable shipping service.
You can get a heater that automatically keeps the room at a certain temp. I use one in the winter, you just need to make sure there is good circulation in the room. Also probably keep the spinys at the higher degrees of that range and Chinese and giant asians at the lower degrees.
I completely agree that the media is a problem, not to name names but certain networks spreading borderline conspiracy theories and twisting facts to support a certain person. I also agree the numbers of infected aren't accurate, US tests are inaccurate and low in supply causing many cases to go...
I believe I have also seen it with Cat Eye mantises.
Also @Alimama how often were they upside down? I imagine a possible cause for this condition is a combination of overfeeding and lack of are to stand upright.

But it definitely looks like an infection with that black coloration. Try BBF or HF and a cleaner environment and update us if you notice fewer fatalities. Good luck and good job at inspecting the care you gave her in such a detailed and analytical way!!
