I have had an ootheca from a chinese mantid for a little more than 4 weeks.
I know the expected time frame is between 2-6weeks normally but is there any way for me to know if I just have a bad ooth. If anyone can give me reassurance i would greatly appreciate it. damn my eagerness
Im not completly sure but i think i have heard of this before
Sometimes the mantid can fall from the top of their cage and if they do not land correctly can become paralyzed. At least thats what it sounds like to me but hey
im not expert

I havea question regarding nymph care. I currently have a set up for my mantis. i plan on raising only 2 in a split 10g tank(which i have been told is plenty of room for my chinese mantis) I have an abundant supply of aphids and fruit flies. I am curious if you raise more nymph than you plan to...
Is there any way that an ootheca and its eggs be killed or incapable of hatching if exposed to pesticides? I know how sensitve mantid are too them and just curious if ootheca are as well.
