Not sure if anyone is interested but I've got a TON of praying mantis ooths for pinning (infertile WILL NOT HATCH). I was going to list them on Ebay but figured I'd give our community first dibs. :) If you are interested PM for list of available species, pics, and prices (open to trades). Thanks
LOL I dont think the city would be to happy about that.
I hope to attract all kinds of everything friendly out there.
My plan has been kinda derailed by realizing/remembering I need to add an entire french drain system around the building to divert water from flooding the area. Yeah. now to dig...

This is where I bought all mine. Really helps to buy bulk. This site also sells the metal lids.
Thanks for the input Rick. I'll start taking pics and make a bit of a journal. Is this the best place or should I perhaps start a post in like other discussions?
Hey everyone. After years of staring at my vacant spare lot I've decided to invest the time and build some kinda bad a** frog pond/hang out spot. (This decision has nothing to due with city ordinence ppl harassing me about my really tall weeds ;) ) Anyway I'm looking for ANY advice on outside...
I bought a bag of ladybugs from my local Fred Meyers and my mantids LOVE them. I'm curious thou if I can farm them and not have to keep buying them. Anyone have any knowledge on this, I'd be greatful.
I have several species that only have one or two of a certain gender and as a breeder that doesnt do me much good, but as a fellow hobbyist I'd like to keep my "lose ends" in the community so if anyone wants or needs any of these guys let me know, most are a bit older and I'll likely only ask...
I buy all my cups and lids thru this site. You can hunt around for stuff, I do buy in bulk which helps. Anyway here is a link to just their lids http://www.superiorshippingsupplies.com/the-store/140/shopbrowse
No idea on 80oz sorry.
I think I have to do a stagnant pond. My original intent was a frog pond so having moving water and pumps was a big no no. I think the most important thing is depth. From what I've read, water has to be deep enough during the winter tadpoles and dragon fly nymphs won't freeze. Which I intend to...
Nice video. I watched this one earlier, they are basically crazy mantids. https://youtu.be/knlXTU1R_rE
After doing a bit of research I'm pretty sure I have three of the damsel flies (2 males and 1 female). Im also pretty sure I need to get off my butt and start digging out my pond and start...
I was at the park today with my kids and actually managed to catch several dragonflies. I'm thinking about trying to breed them and was curious if anyone has any experience. Any advice you can give would be great, thanks.
If you don't have any insects you want to keep healthy roaming free you should use terro http://www.amazon.com/TERRO-Killer-Liquid-Baits-pre-filled/dp/B000HJBKMQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434305120&sr=8-1&keywords=terro+ant+killer&pebp=1434305125719&perid=55BB88224602466284DE...
Received some very healthy and happy nymphs yesterday. I'm glad we have someone like Vlodek in our community. He is clearly someone who cares about mantids and his customers. Will look forward to buying from yet again. Thank you sir.
I have been debating making the moss tank but I just keep thinking it would be like 100% humidity in there. I'm curious if there is even a mantis that would thrive in that kind of environment? (I've heard orchids like that kinda wetness but I'm so not comfortable with mantids enough to try to...
