This might sound kinda novice of me but.. Has anyone at least tried breeding two different species of mantis with each other ? Not like in a major way, I mean two species that look similar to each other enough that they think it's the same species. Like... limbata and majuscula..

This is very interesting. To do this you'd need a big enough mold to put it in; (in length and height). Then pin it flat or in a position (again,depending on the mold LxH). And wait for it to dry out then do it. But you have to very careful not to break off any of the limbs.

I pinned mine in a position and let it dry out as an experiment. Honestly drying it out would have to basically require you to frame it because it's so delicate that any pressure on it will damage it. Check out this thread I started on the subject...

Not that I would but, there's a good but not so legal way of keeping many mantis species alive. Start releasing large numbers of species in your yard or local park/forest(depending on where you live). That way in a few years they will be common mantids in your area or state :P Only mantis...

I been feeding my nymphs mealworms cause the beetles started producing them and they are small enough to feed the nymphs I have... well last night I go to mist everyone and I find one nymph missing.
