    Orchid Mantis

Keep incubating the ooth and you may get some to hatch that are alive and well. It is worth it to wait.

    Orchid Mantis

That is not the correct incubation time for an Orchid ooth. If she layed the ooth on 10-15 and one nymph hatched on the 19th of Nov. this is not long enough. Someone else with more recent experience can verify, but a more appropraite incubation time is about 62 days. So the remaining ooth...

    Sally

I recently received an adult male mantid to mate to my ready female. It did not work out, as my female was not receptive. In the whole effort to get my female mated, Sally was a great help and is just an awesome person all the way around. She is one in a million as far as I can tell. I...

    Vlodek

I recently sent my mature Orchid female to Wlodek for mating. She did well in the travel, but she was ailing before and after arrival. Wlodek did his best to get her to revive to good health and even tried to mate her. She did not make it, and I was saddened. Wlodek was a comfort to me and...

    Capable of recognizing food sources?

For sure this recognition thing is possible. This nice trait exists in some pet fish like Goldfish and Bettas. It is more obvious and easy to witness if you have only a few mantids, you handle them, and allow them outside the cage privileges.

    Infection after adult molt?

Now if you can provide a large drop of water placed where she can get to it, she will drink from it if she needs more hydration. Mine does this readily almost every day. Since she will not eat at this time, she can still flush her internal organs.

    Infection after adult molt?

She looks great otherwise. I think that this sometimes happens with moisture and temperature being the varients.
