So a while back I noticed my mantises butt was pretty big, I thought I over fed him so I stopped feeding him for a while. Today, I checked up on him again and his butt didn't become smaller, it became bigger. I usually fed him once every two days. The inside of the butt also looked green

The image isn't showing? So can't see what's going on unfortunately. what species is the mantis and what instar?
It sounds like he may have an infection or something. Or maybe there is a clog in his digestive system. Another possibility is parasites, especially if the mantis was wild caught.

Ok so it looks like a female and she may be egg bound. But females also get really fat sometimes so it could possibly be normal? It looks like a giant Asian type mantis? I can't quite tell. But from the picture I can't see anything that looks wrong other then she is very fat. So she could be egg bound which means for some reason she can't lay an egg case.

Also is she acting normal? Is she active and crawling around? still interested in food? If she is acting normal and accepting food she may be fine. Is she a Chinese mantis? But female mantises get really fat sometimes. Though if there is something oozing out of her then that may be a sign something is wrong. Oh and the picture loaded this time.

It's a normal mantis, she still wants to eat food and is pretty active, tho she like to hang on that branch. No ooze coming out

Yeah, I would feed her as long as she'll eat. I've had a few who got bloated and unfortunately passed away. But they would "throw up" black liquid and refuse to eat anything as long as she's eating id feed her. They'll refuse food if they've had enough

She is not Chinese, look at her wings. You need to feed her a couple flies every other day and see if she gets thinner. But she will not as she is going to lay an infertile egg or she is just egg bound. How long has she been adult? if over 2 months, she probably is egg bound., Always offer water.

I don't know. My friend's mantis laid eggs and lived for over two weeks. It died of horsehair worms (sad)
