I’ve had this female mantis since she hatched last March. It is now December. She has been eating and drinking and over the past three months has laid three oothecae.

She ate yesterday but today started “grabbing” at her eyes, antennae, or mouth it’s hard to tell. She keeps “chewing” or moving her mouth and tilting her head as well, almost as if something is stuck in her mouth although I don’t see anything.

She has seemed weak the past few days like not standing up all the way or dragging g back limbs.

Is she dying? Is she suffering? What are your recommendations?

Sadly Rosie died the day after I posted this. I think it was old age but it could have been exposure to some store bought flowers that had something toxic on them.

She was a beautiful mantis! I am hoping to hatch her offspring in the upcoming spring!
