first of all i was reading somewere and it said that mantis die before winter and thier ooths last through winter to hatch in spring. I also head that they can live up to 1 year, so how do some of them survive? do they hibernate or something similar? How do their ooths survive the winter...

If i were to purchase an exotic species of mantis oothaca and released the majority of them in my garden/woods, is that legal?

I've noticed throught looking at other peoples posts that they mention themselfs/mantis as instar/L1 etc. what do these terms mean and how do aply them to my mantis?

I joined the mantis forum about 3 weeks ago. Im' 17 in high school and just recently found 3 mantis's outside adn decided to join here to get better advise on how to care for my mantis's. there all babies and i think their budwings.

I cought this mantis outside about 2 weeks ago. he molted about 1 week ago. he was really green at first but after he molted he turned kindof brownish?

My baby mantis, (about 3 weeks i think) is really really plump. I stopped feeding her (i think its a female) just today. But my question is, is it possible for them to eat too much and explode?
