I would say not to try it because the mantis could drown trying to get it.

I would not mind this if it was a remotely fair match but most are never near fair : / but heck some places they eat mantids so yeah playing with your food much?

Well from what i know the mantis will try to figure out a weak spot to eat it from, so it should be fine, if not it wont eat it and you just take it out. :)

I went to my local store and got this calcium sand its supposed to be great for insects and lizards also looks cool. >_> WHITE SAND! was not expensive either like 20 bucks got me a 20 pound bag i'm sure you can find better prices tho.

So I decided to start making a mantis channel for youtube were I show every 3 days how things are coming along feeding and molting and what not :) should be a fun thing to do.
