I'm very sad. I went outside this morning and she was hanging from her lofty spot, but lifeless. I have no clue what happened to her. R.I.P. Amelia . :(

I keep her in a lofty place on the windowsill. It's too dangerous inside with my cats. So far, she's happy to hang. I'm happy to have her and hope she continues to stick around. :)

Hey folks, it's been a while since I've posted. This evening I was out walking with my neighbor and her dog, when I came upon a mantis in the bushes. Excited, I picked her up. Pretty sure I counted 6 abdominal segments. So now I'd like to know, what kind of mantis is she and approximately how...

Alright... is it possible that there's a scratch on the thorax or something that by coincidence, looks like a 2? I don't know this friend personally, but really, she doesn't strike me as one to make stuff up, in all honesty.

If they were really aliens, wouldn't they have crop circle designs? :D

I know, it looks so fake. I did bring it in to PS to experiment. The baseline of the 2 matched perfectly to the baseline of the 2 I placed next to it. Different font but it lined up perfect... maybe her camera has decided to put little bits of metadata on her photos, lol. I give up!

I completely agree that it looks faked, (I'm almost tempted to put my mantis pics in photoshop and number them just for fun, lol) but I want to believe her too. Anyway, if anyone has ever heard of mantids being tracked, let me know!
