I just use Ikea desk-lamps. they give a lot of heat and you can put them closer or further away, which gives you the possibility to regulate the temperature. :)

Hey there :) About the draft I wouldn't be too worried. As long as the mantis doesn't stand next to the window and in the middle of the draft it should be fine. Just have an eye on the temperature in the enclosure and don't let it drop too much. But if you have a lamp it should stay warm...

As i said, they are losing populations, it's forbidden to collect/keep/kill mantis religiosa. If you do, you have to pay money as punishment.. You can get Asian mantids, orchid mantids and gongylus gongyledes from pet stores though. :) And I will definitely take pictures! Maybe I can get a...
