    OK for ghosts?

I like to fuss and keep a careful eye on ALL of my mantids seperately until L/L5 . ( Because of the increased chance of death ) So it may be a smart move for you , but if they are all eating equal amounts and are active then what you're doing is fine.

    L2 Chinese Nymph

So I tried some different things with lighting and got some very cool results. Never thought my camera had this sort of zoom! Anyways I'm making a thread for each instar of my Chinese. These shots are of one of my L2. His legs seem quite green , does anyone know if this will be a green...

    OK for ghosts?

I don't mind seperating them. I can identify each one better , and ensure proper growth. L4 is probably when I put them together but as long as yours are doing okay communally I have no complaints! Everyone has seperate methods.I'm sort of a perfectionist and SUPER careful with my little guys...

    Looking for species suggestions

The Chinese are a pleasure. I would recommend them . I'd also recommend ghosts or gongys because of the communal options involved. ( But I'm not sure if they're legal. I have them anyways though :P ) Honestly though if you're only getting the " legal species " There isn't much to choose from...

    OK for ghosts?

I prefer separating my nymphs into plastic cups so I can take care of each one better, make sure everyone has enough food and overall make it so they have an increased chance at growing. Once they are L5/L4 I put them in large enclosures like the one you have.

    Molting aftermath

I just have a simple question for you guys. How long does it take for a Chinese nymph to recover after his first molt? When will they be strong enough for me to take pictures ? :P Should I wait a couple of hours or a day?

    L3 Violin + Chinese

No after they hatched the eggs must have dislocated and fell onto the ones on the bottom. IT was a huge mess.

Mantis Diet - fish lizards birds and mice

Alright thanks all! And yes I'm still only feeding them crickets/ff's. I was just curious about how they manage to eat such large bony prey and if they are at alright after.

    L3 Violin + Chinese

Oh dear :( Because out of two eggs only like 50 nymphs actually hatched but about 100 others were crushed because the eggs fell during shipping. I currently have about 20 extremely healthy ones. more than two weeks old. Do you think they will all perish due to chance? all eating a ton and...

    L3 Violin + Chinese

Well mine ate like 2 days after hatching . Ever since they've been stuffing their faces with fruit flies. Any estimation for me? they haven't molted and I've had em for more then two weeks.

Mantis Diet - fish lizards birds and mice

Anyone know if pinky mice would be okay? But how does the mantis cope with bones?

    L3 Violin + Chinese

Don't worry! Since I got fruit flies Susie has been eating those up. Crickets are now only for when I can't get a hold of better feeders
