How long do violins live for? Just an estimated year like other mantids? Also any chance I could see a shot with them next to your hand for size reference ?

Does anyone know of how I can obtain Hydei fruit flies? I tried Rebbecca's mantis place site but she can't ship here. I'm from Vancouver, and it's not cold or anything here, so I'm not seeing any issues. Does anyone have some extra hydei's on hand that I could purchase?

Okay so I know my violins require something that flies. I feel as if fruit flies are to small. Will my Violins be able to notice or catch these tiny morsels? Is there a fly that is bigger then fruit flies but small enough for my Violins to take down? Or will spending like, 20 bucks for fruit...

I know about tape risks but carefully plotting the tape can lead to success. I've never had problems with it because I've made it impossible for my mantids to touch the tape at all. ( Or the residue )

Hey I just glued some twigs to the roof of one of my plastic tubs using super glue. How long should I wait for the super glue scent/gas to subside before I put in my violins? Is super glue harmful? Is tape harmful?

Well it's nice that yours actually eats! My remaining nymphs are very timid , and they just flick their food. I've rarely seen them feed. Good luck with yours!!

well one of mine just refused to eat like the others and eventually died, I tried everything. there's two that have eaten a few pinheads and one that seems healthy enough but I haven't seen him eat. I decided Im going to separate them in deli cups until they're bigger so it's easier for them to...

Aren't males less of a threat? Because females are always eating more and act more aggressive in their adult days.

Would syrup work? I think they know the pinheads are food now. I believe three of the four have eaten nicely, but one of them has been in the same area for the whole day and has not even noticed the food despite my vigorous attempts. Is he going to molt or is he a gonner?
