Well Wax worms are not a stable feeder. They are treats for mantis. The reason I have so many because I have a lot of chameleons to feed. I offer my chameleons about once a month on waxworm to keep them nice and fat!!

Then I guess my Mantis would be a different breed?? Look at my Giant Shield...Fishing for Wax worms.... 1 big tub of wax!!

Yeah! Seizure is like twitching..... and then lost body function; can't move coordinately. Died eventually from this.

I am having a huge problem with my Giant Shield right now. 1 female molted to adult on 8/20. Yesterday, my L7 was lying on the floor (i tried to bring her up onto her branch) , she was like a eating machine before, she stop eating and the wing started to swell, I transfer her to a bigger net...

1 of my male giant shield mantis died this way with no apparent reason. Its head and abdomen turn black. Now I have another on hanging on lifelessly. I decided to use some tape and tape its legs onto the lid. Miraculously he can still hunt for food when the flies is in reach. I hope he will make it.

Giant Shield Mantis is a very nice and good size mantis. I love them. I got 4 from Rick, all came in in excellent shape!!!

My brother and I actually breed Discus fish in our house when we are you and sell them among pet shops, at the top of our season, we counted more than 10,000 fishes. Hundreds of fish tanks!! This person might be breeding mantis at home?

Hey Rebecca, 3 of them just molted, the red one still remain red but the others turn more green. I just hope I will have a red one when adult. Anyone have a red female for sale? Selective breeding might ends up with red giant shield!! :lol:

In need of male Giant Shield, so I bought 4 Giant Shield Mantis from Rebecca. I am surprise to receive them today and 2 of them are red form. Very well packed, excellent breeder!!

Erm....................1 of my Giant Shield Mantis just molted into adult female last night in a 32oz cup! My L6 just molted into L7 this morning in a 32oz cup too. I have no trouble for them to molt. However I glued some plastic mesh on the top of the lip instead of using the aluminum mesh...
