    Agree......it hurt my eyes to see all these blue !!! But here is a picture of my hatched Idolomantis ooth, My ooth is slightly over an inch... it hatch last week with 26 nymphs.

    The dirt actually stick together ...I never have problem of them draining down amongst the rocks. Also, I do not water them, I spray them therefore water won't wash the dirt layer downwards. if you are scare of the dirt being wash down, you can actually add a layer of sphagnum moss underneath.

    Becky: The reason for rocks below to allow me to see how much water should I put in it..... LOL... serve as a gauge for water. Since carnivorous plants can't withstand drought..... this will allow the whole enclosere to be humid yet not waterlogged (contact with the roots) and caused the roots...

    I never went camping in Sabah nor Sarawak so I am not so sure about hunting mantis in Borneo. Should worth a try, just that it is very thick jungle... and there are too many crocodile around the rivers and streams....LOL.. I don't wanna be croc-food. There are also elephants roaming around...

    I given up on this species...... I had 4 adult females and 3 adult males... I guess all my males are gay... and didn't do their job and die eventually..... any now I have tons of unfertilized ooth produced by the females!
