It is not uncommon for the male to be wary. They know its life or death. What temp is it at? FOr some species bringing up the temp. makes the female more receptive.

I agree with you. I have no plans to breed them. I only keep P. paradoxas. I'm just more curious as to if someone did breed, it they produced offsprings and if those offsprings are sterile or fertile. I think you are right, its likely they won't produce viabable offspring like the other closely...

They are so closely related I wonder if they can produce successful offsprings? Anyone ever try? 

She seems ok. she wont eat for a little bit but don't be too alarmed. You can try feeding her anyway. She seems to be drying ok.

Someone told me to put a small piece of raw meat in a jar outside with a funnel. Another person suggested condensed milk. Try those and you can just catch wild flies when you are in a pinch.

I don't know if they affect mantids but I'm also not sure if you can be 100% sure either. Horse hair worms are creepy.

I would not recommend it keeping with Idolos. My Idolos have always eaten one another during a molt. They aren't aggressive but definitely opportunist.

turn her upside down on her back and allow her to straighten out and see if it helps.
