    homemade popsicle stick fixtures?

I've had popsicle sticks break out in mold, so I stopped using them. I am keeping Orchids, which require higher humidity, so they didn't work for me. If your RH is in the lower range, mold may not be an issue

    Hello

Wowzers! Talk about unexpected, lol Feeding may be a big issue letting them free range. You may end up with quite a lot of cannibalism, due to food availability, if you let them continue to free range. It's really your prerogative, whether you want to try to keep every nymph alive in a cup, or...

HOW'S THE WEATHER WHERE YOU ARE?

    Hysteresis' Mantis Stream - 2019

Yup, flying prey is preferred 👍 My mantids didn't really enjoy eating crickets or mealworms the few times I've tried out of necessity. Yet flies they go for immediately.

    Bent leg following mismolt

Try giving him a mixture of raw honey and water to drink. I mix mine in a small cup, saturate a Qtip with the honey water, and let them drink from the Qtip. It should help him recover some of his strength.  Once he eats and gets the hang of his new limbs, he will probably be okay. A bent leg...

Not sure of instar or ***

Sounds confusing, but Ghosts are super easy to tell apart Below are a couple info graphics I found online (not my images). They should help show you the difference between male and female easily

Not sure of instar or ***

Boots and Pants both look male to me, but I could be wrong.  Ghosts are easy to *** because they have visible differences other than counting segments. The crown, aka their funky hat, is different for males VS females. I can kinda see Leafy's crown as well as the segments, and I think she is...

    Just excited

Mine typically molt overnight and are hungry by the early afternoon, when I feed. I've had a few be more skittish for a week or two, but in general they are bottomless fly pits, stopping only to molt 😂 To a fly, they are a terrifying beast to be avoided, but to me, my female orchids are sweet...

    Hysteresis' Mantis Stream - 2019

I can't help with the counting here, I'm lost with all those spines! So adorable, though 😍

@hysteresis I find Ghosts are very finicky about eating post molt, so I'd say those observations are accurate. Females tend to be hungry faster than males, in my experience. My males seem to take 2 days to eat after molting, females usually about a day Orchids are another story. They are...

In the photos, you can see his wing buds, a clear sign that a mantis is approaching its final molt.  Sinclair molted recently to subadult, so I believe you have a while with him

HOW'S THE WEATHER WHERE YOU ARE?

Yeah, I'm closer to Canada than I am to Oregon or Idaho. Guess that makes me an honorary Canadian, eh?  The walloping continues here! Another 4 inches possible today, more on the way!

    soraya got stuck

Oh no! This is tragic! ❤️ I'm so sorry to see this  Sometimes, grease/oil can help remove sticky residue. Perhaps some baby oil, or olive oil? Let it saturate the glue and try to remove the fly paper.  Best of luck 🤞
