    Surprise New Mantids

Nice pics. Going back to the music thing, Classical music or Birdsong speeds up germination time in seeds by a registrable percentage, dont quote me, something small like 0.5 or 0.05 % which is like..... 5 minutes lol, even so, Ive got classic FM permanetly playing in the Mantis room. Not sure...

    Planted Terrarium

I do have over 10 years experience with climate control, pumps, lights, temp , humidity , ventilation etc.. with the Horticulture but doing it on a much smaller scale in tanks using live animals is a whole new thing to me but I find the idea of it highly exciting. Its the same game but from a...

I know ponds can cause a drowning hazard for the Mantids. At the moment Ive got artificial flowers and leaves with...

Wow,   Monty the Hierodula majuscula has also successfully shed his exoskeleton,  the shocking thing was that hes grown a great big set of wings. I was expecting it but it was still a big surprise to see them fully formed.   Crikey !   as it says in my book,     they keep you jumping, don't they !!!

    Molting 2

My Hieredula majuscula Giant Rainforest Mantis certainly looks  ready to shed but Im rather concerned. Yesterday I watched it pumping its abdomen after a feed and I thought wow its doing it now. I saw the side of the abdomen trying to open and I can see the new exoskeleton underneath building up...
