You can look up "diapause" for more information. In short, some specie requires a cold period (either a simulated or a real winter) as part of their incubation process. Since the European (Mantis religiosa) is one of them, I'd believe a European dwarf too based on region alone.

Don't let my kids hear that :P The entire molting process is about 15-25 minutes followed by some drying time and general weirdness behaviorally speaking. If he allowed you to tape him without much fight he's either really close to molting or really close to death - generally they don't like...

It does, make sure there are no large feeders like crickets in his habitat (they like to cause problems when mantids molt), and give him a few days without food. If he goes 3-4 days then he's just being weird and try to feed him, but I bet he'll molt instead.

I'd need to see the inside of his arms to tell with more certainty, but if I had to make a fairly blind guess I'd go with Mantis religiosa - European. Does he have what look like eyes on his biceps? If not, where are you located?

Pupae eventually come out as flies. You should check for specifics from the place you got them, but generally you throw the bulk in the fridge, and put maybe 4-5 in the habitat. After a few days they should break out of the pupae exoskeleton and start flying around in there. Do you know what...

Only info I can find recommends a humidity of 45% If your in California the average outdoor humidity is like 60%+ so unless you are running a serious dehumidifier in your house you probably want to only indirectly spray a few drops periodically for drinking water (more if she drinks right away...
