    Yen Saw - (US)

Ordered 3 P wahlbergii from Yen, and he sent 5 healthy, beautiful ones. He sent exactly what I asked for, plus more. There was an issue with shipping, that Yen had nothing to do with (USPS’s fault), but they made it just fine. They are the food I gave them as soon as I put it down in their cups...

We have Phyllocrania paradoxa hatchlings! (baby Ghost

I agree with @MantisGirl13. I don’t even sleep for 6 hours, and I don’t spend any more than two hours with my mantids. I too would like to provide a home for your budwings and Ghosts, but with all the things I’ve ordered, I will be surprised if I have enough time with what I already have. Both...

    MantisKingdom/DeShawn

Ordered an orchid male, and two D truncata nymphs, all arrived safely and well packed, including the extra dead leaf. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for high quality mantids at a good price.

Ordered 8x Ghost mantids from Mantisplace, all arrived safely and healthy, including 2 bonus ones. A+ for communication, well packed box, and for good looking mantids

    Wax worms/Lesser Beemoth

Just this morning, I had three of my wax worms hatch into moths, and I noticed that they couldn’t fly. They have fully developed wings, but no matter how hard they flap them, they cannot leave the ground. Is this normal?

    Hello From Long Island

Welcome to this amazing forum! Are you wanting to get some exotic species, or just stick to Chinese? If you’re on the fence about it, I would definitely go ahead and order some exotic ones. As cool as the Chinese are (and they’re still one of my favorites), raising exotic ones is just so cool...

    Ian’s mantids

@River Dane im hoping to, if I’m able to keep him alive for long enough. She’s a fresh subadult as of yesterday, so we’ll have to wait and see. But I’m definitely hoping to breed them

    Keeping a male alive

My two mantids just molted, and the male is an adult, but the female is a sub. I guess she either had an extra one, or he skipped one. Either way, he has his wings and she doesn’t.  So I need to keep him alive for at least another six weeks, so I can breed him. Are there any strategies for...

    Ian’s mantids

And this is the male eating his food that he caught himself: And here he is, about 15 minutes ago, when he started to molt and here he is now, getting his wings

    Ian’s mantids

Here’s my little male, when I got him at L3. Poor fella, couldn’t close his arms to eat, so I had to hand feed him: heres him eating after his molt, which fixed his arms!

    Ian’s mantids

And here she is now, as a subadult. She just molted yesterday, I think And thats all all I have on her. Now, for the male

    Ian’s mantids

This is her during her L5-L6 molt this is is my favorite pic of her. She’s a L6, eating a moth two days before her molt. I think she blended well with the pink flower she’s on.

    Ian’s mantids

Next up, is the result of my most ambitious (and foolish) decision as a lad. A few months ago, right before college started, I basically said screw it, and spent all of my savings on a couple orchid mantids. I probably shouldn’t have, since I had literally 54 cents in the bank (I’m seriously not...

    Ian’s mantids

Figured it’s about time to post my photos, and since I’ve got some decent WiFi,there is no better time than now! to start off, here is my first generation Chinese, the first one I hatched from an egg (that I stole from the garden ?). This was back in 2016. Before someone gets triggered at my...

    mealworms as feeders

I’ve given some mealworms to mine, but you have to be really careful with them. They have a very powerful bite that can be harmful to your mantis. So as long as you’re cutting the worm in some fashion, you should be good. They are a good source of food, but I wouldn’t make them your mantis’s...

    Size of mantids?

I’ve been watching some videos of them, and I agree completely! I hope I am able to have as much luck as you. I’m getting 5 females and 3 males, so I’m hoping to get quite a few ooths to hatch!

    Size of mantids?

@Rick So I should probably start looking for a melanogaster culture? I’ve read that they aren’t as hard to culture as D. hydei, so I shouldn’t have any troubles, I don’t think.  @Synapze thabks for showing me that video! They are just as small as I would have expected
