    Jasmine

Yes, it's likely. Unfortunately, she has no mate and will die a spinster. Such a pity.

    The Greatest Loss.

Glad that Echo had such a caring owner and someone to gently usher her to the Land of Crickets and Honey. Been there more than a few times. But the fum of her kids' little feet clamoring around the house with bring back all the happiness and rekindled memories.

    Poor Tenuk

Well, she's doing ok at the moment. When she eats, it sort of looks like a human trying to eat corn-on-cob with his elbows. I am skewering a mealworm onto a push pin - which is set through a piece of cardboard and sits at an angle. I then have to maneuver the cardboard assembly to 1. get...

    Very amateur video

Thank you Sticky. I got Jasmine from renowned U.S. breeder Vlodek.

    Very amateur video

LOL ! Nah, Jasmine wouldn't pick her mandibles with a mini cricket. She was standing there searching for a cat or dog. ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; or pony. :)

    feeding a mismolt

Norlin - I've been talking to a few others on another thread about this type of solution. My D. lobata has mismolted and has no use of his raptorials. Been hand feeding with tweezers, but that can get tiresome after a while. Others suggested a pin or nail like you've done here. My only...

Wow. Astounding! Superb images and your macros are breathtaking. Very nice work.

    Very amateur video

I'm trying to learn some very rudimentary video captures and editing with nothing more than MS My Movie Maker. Jasmine just molted to a magnificent, gymongous adult (she's now: Jasmine The Huntress), so I thought I'd put the Canon Vixia HFR500 on her. Unexpectedly, a loose mini cricket was...

    Good Camera help

SWG, With that budget, you can find some great quality, effective point & shoot equipment. Might be a great place to start and you could use these types of cameras for a long while and not exhaust ideas...

    Look Who's Back !

Some weeks ago, I was serendipitously visited by a Phidippus audax jumping spider. She was an early stage spider - clearly in need of a good feed. The story is here: http://mantidforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=34211&hl=audax I christened her "Thumper." Off she went into the...

    Good Camera help

SWG: You really need to list a budget. Otherwise we could all write a book. If your phone has a camera, why not start with that? You need to really light your subjects well. Many phone cameras have a macro setting which can produce results that are fine for the web (70 - 80 dpi)...

Teen Age Keket has a munch fest

Yes Denise. They are really small. It's another species I'm trying for the first time, thanks to my friend Vlodek. I'm guessing the molt to adult is an explosion since I have handled these as adults. The adults are small, but considerably larger than the L5s to sub-adult.

    Poor Tenuk

Andrew, You know, I thought about that a little more after you and Patrick made the observation. I've never raised this species before and perhaps I'm jumping the gun. This would have been her L7 molt. Even, by chance, this is not her adult molt, the matter is relatively moot. Without use...

Teen Age Keket has a munch fest

Keket and her brother Ptolemy are two Blepharopsis mendica who are growing at a very slow pace. So whenever there is a molt, it's a big event. While celebrating her L6 birthday, Keket encouraged a small cricket to join the festivities. Happily the cricket hopped up onto the table. Keket was...
