    Heterochaeta orientalis

I love Heterochaeta's pointy eyes, largeness, stick-like body and coloration! Truly one of my favorite mantid species!
  3. BringontheBugs

She certainly approves of the new home :P

These are easy to make ventilation holes in with a soldering gun or an electric wood burner :)

    Darkling I.D Request for Hisserdude

Hi Hisserdude! Here is a picture of one of my darkling that you said you may be able to identify from beetleforum! It's not very good because I had to crop it a lot to fit it into the requirements for a photo, but here you go! :)

    My New Polyphaga aegyptiaca

    Thank you! :)
  9. BringontheBugs

    My New Polyphaga aegyptiaca

Thanks, guess sometimes you got to learn the hard way. I never though that a roach could die because of moist substrate. Luckily now I know, and my birthday is coming up at the end of the month so I'll be able to replenish my Egyptian semi-colony. :)
  10. BringontheBugs

    My Eurycotis lixa colony

Yep! I want to grow them as fast as I can, so I can get this colony up and breeding!
  11. BringontheBugs

    My New Polyphaga aegyptiaca

Dang! When I went to see how many of the nymphs had survived I only saw 2 that were fine, 2 that won't barely move but weren't dead yet, and 4 dead ones! :( On a good note though, I should be able to keep those 2 alive for sure and I'm drying out the substrate.
  12. BringontheBugs

    My Eurycotis lixa colony

Thanks! :)  They have been doing well so far, they have been growing pretty fast, and eating A LOT!
  13. BringontheBugs

    My New Polyphaga aegyptiaca

Thanks for the info! I was told when I bought these that they should be kept slightly moist and that they could dessicate easily at this size. The moist substrate could explain the deaths that I've been having, I will try to get some of the moisture out as soon as possible. Hope I can save them!
  14. BringontheBugs

    Gromphadorhina portentosa

    Great, Thanks! :)
  15. BringontheBugs

    Isopod (sow/pill bugs) Armadillidium nasatum

Yep look exactly like the ones I had, so they should be scaber. :)

  17. BringontheBugs

    First time, not so good!

    So cool!
  18. BringontheBugs

    Gromphadorhina portentosa

Hisserdude, to confirm this is a male right? I wanted to know because I just housed my adult male G.oblongonota with it and wanted to make sure it was a male so there will be no breeding.
  19. BringontheBugs

    Isopod (sow/pill bugs) Armadillidium nasatum

The unknown species might be Porcellio scaber. When I caught some many were orange.
  20. BringontheBugs

    My Eurycotis lixa colony

No problem! I love sharing photos of my insects!
