Not sure what fly you are talking about, but it appears to be fruit flies? If so you need to make a frit fly culture to put them in and about 3/4 weeks they will need to be remade into new culture.

hi, You can collect some fruit flies with a bottle with lid off and some rotting fruit at bottom, when you see a few in there cap it and start a culture and you just make a new one about every two weeks and you'll have plenty of fruit flies for them.

Welcome. I like putting them on a hanging plant or one that is not near a cabinet because they will desire to climb up. As long as it can catch some flies or spiders in the house they should be fine, just have to watch for frass as it can get messy. Mist the plant and keep it fed and it will...
