For this species they should be fine to hatch at any angle. I even had collected ooths hatch face down in a deli cup, before I had a chance to glue them down to a lid.

Doesn't look like it to me. But then I've only seen the captive ooths from my stock. Looks more like something produced by a Sphodromantis
