Yeah, oothecae are usually laid before Winter, then hatch in Spring. The eggs inside are dormant during the Winter. A couple years ago I collected a bunch of oothecae during the Winter, it's easiest to spot them then! They are always fertile it seems!

They can see very well, I read that it's up to 60 feet, which seems to be true, I see them following cars with their eyes when they're in the window, when cars are way on the street, which is I'd say about 60 feet give or take a foot or so.

October 11th Another Idolo reached L3, #1: Just waiting on the male now. I'm feeding him less so that he will reach adulthood around the same time as the females. Males have one less molt and it takes 1-2 months for females to reach adulthood when sub-adults. So I want him to be 1-2 molts...
