i met the abdomen gets lighter, (you can see if he/she ate or not) if the mantis ate, then the abdomen should be darker cause of food in its belly.

The pictures above you provided seems to me that the mantis is eating and its abdomen looks plump.

great to hear! mantises cant resist honey. Is his/her abdomen plump? (should also be a darker color) if it is then the mantis should be fine.

Make sure the humidity is proper for them. A net cage might be too much ventilation dropping the humidity.

I recommend keeping them in 32oz cups until they get too large. I then kept mine in a pop up net cage and wrapped 90% of the sides with Saran Wrap to hold humidity and allow perfect ventilation. I lightly sprayed them each night so they get proper humidity and plenty of drinking water to stay...

(Some millipedes secrete chemicals(correct me if I’m wrong)) Apparently the secretion is an irritant not a poison. I’m not sure if a mantis will be irritated by the secretion.  Bumblebee millipedes do secrete this chemical and it dosent smells pretty funky.

ive had a few escapes.  They tend to climb high, check windows. Most likely your mantis is catching a nice breeze on top of a cabinet and you actually dont see him. You'll find him eventually. Just watch your step.

Here are some things you can do: -freeze for 48 hours  - bake them (I’m not sure what temperature or how long) -or pour boiling water on the sticks, or dunk them in boiling water. I mainly boil water, it’s faster and more simple.
