    Possible nymph molting issue?

Thanks Graceface! I do happen to have a tiny paintbrush on hand for messing with my tarantulas. I'll see if I can't gently nudge it a little. Maybe I'll try trimming first and then nudging.

    Possible nymph molting issue?

Thanks MantisGirl13! Wow that's absolutely incredible, poor thing. I'm sure relieved though that this is normal and I have  feeling if it's still there the next molt should push it off and they sure molt quick at this size!

    Possible nymph molting issue?

Thanks Synapze! I'm about to go trim off some more at least enough to make her walk more comfortably. I hope to loosen it up a bit so it will fall off on it's own.

    Possible nymph molting issue?

It's definitely a good idea worth considering and I did mist earlier. I'll wait a day or two and mist some more and if it's still a problem I'll try and find at least something to do to get most of it off. I'll see if she wants some fruit flies tomorrow or the next day.

    Possible nymph molting issue?

Hi guys! I just noticed my new tiny nymph molted and I sure hope I didn't disturb him/her in the process but it looks like she's already done except for one little problem. When I took her out a little while ago I realized the molt was stuck to her back leg and she was dragging it around with...

What's the best way to care for a hatchling?

Good to know! I think that at this size whenever I mist I'll take her out and mess with her a little and while she's crawling around on my hand I'll spray in there a couple times and let it evaporate just a little before putting her back in there. Fortunately all my fruit flies are flightless...

What's the best way to care for a hatchling?

Oh my gosh that's genius! I've never thought of that for fruit fly precision gathering! I will be doing that. It is a glass jar and while I don't see actual air holes, the jar does seem to have a very, very ,very fine mesh over it.

What's the best way to care for a hatchling?

How you doing guys? I was given a beautiful little mantis as a gift from my cousin when she got a couple of them. This animal is tiny and I mean really tiny as in probably born last week and as my cousin put it perfectly, looks like a little like a mosquito. He/she will eventually grow quite...

    Griffin

I decided to get it guys! I knew deep down it would happen as I was hooked at first sight with this species. Plus there's apparently a deal going on on mantisplace.com where if I order any species they'll send me a mystery species for free! I don't care either way but it sure would be cool to...

What's going on guys? I can tell that care for mantids is similar more or less across the board but even still I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything specific about the griffin mantis or Polyspilota Griffinii? I'm thinking of getting one from a site called mantisplace.com. Based on...

    Possible health issue

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much. Some mantises actually go through slight color changes from time to time. I wouldn't be too surprised if, like chameleons, they do it to match their mood right then and there. Just leave some food in there for her. She'll eat when she's hungry. The exciting thing...

    A good life

Ooh I like how that sounds. There's a passionate and careful breeder if I ever saw one. When I plan out my next addition and places to put them he'll probably be the first place I look!
