California is popping off too right now the mantids all over finding me! Sister found one at work and other sister found a dead adult.
What state are you in. Gotta be some there.
I have like 20,000 photos to upload but here's one of my Violins on their branches.
If you look close you can see several violins on the branch in the middle and only one on the roof.
Yes the idolo has trouble walking on many surfaces. It seems to stick best to twigs and foam lids.
The same sticks for my Idolos, My gongys really like! They stay on the sticks now instead of on the netting since I put sticks in their net cage.
Received a sweet mantis calender from Peter yesterday or the day before in the mail.
Thanks very much! Will definitely get some use from this and dig the pictures.
Waaaay nicer than my free ace hardware calender!
Now I have mantis pinups. :devil2:
I can't see anything from your videos. Maybe somebody more experienced will.
Lighting is off and you can't see really what kind of mantis it is.
The Eurpean I found the other day was that color and he was in 100* weather at the gas station or close to that temp. That doesn't look like...
Lol I was thinking that. How the heck does he have the patience to actually get that footage. Specially with the snoop dog gongy video man. That's a hit with my family. If you guys knew how hard this is you'd be amazed. He puts some hard work into these productions. Specially making the music so...
Awesome footage.
They look like their riding a motorcycle when they lean left and right like that haha.
Also that was cool watching him plow through the little stink bugs.
Very cool dude keep up the good work. B)
When one of my baby Idolos died I fed it to my chameleon.
Expensive snack but it was already dead so not like anything. The chameleon was used to eating bugs off my tongs and just slurped it right up.
Usually mold can't grow in water. Either too much water or not enough water can kill the mold.
Try removing the ghost from the humidity and see if this helps?
Indeed. Yen sent a very well matched pair.
They are very fun mantis too I like this species I have the male out for playtime all the time but I try not to disturb the female much so I don't damage the goods somehow.
Hehehe they are breeding again right now. :whistling:
This time he jumped on backwards like a pro then switched around into position after she was done being angry for being attacked.
Once he mounted he did not start mating until I put them back in the cage and they were...
That's a nice idea too. Thanks! Could even just velcro a very thin piece of plexiglass on the open end. I was supposed to finish them up this weekend but a little slow getting there. Probably this week.
Sweet!
Nice pics dude.
I finally realized the male ghosts have thicker antennae than the female. that's how I found out I had a sub adult male and female! There is quite a few difference between the male and female ghost once they are out of the younger molts.
