    Multi-Mantis Enclosure

Keep in mind what ever you use as a coating the mantis must be able to drink mist off it and not be toxic, nice Idea though!

Same for me as well, glad you brought it up I thought my windows was messing up, also the avatars on the main page are thin and un-viewable, but on the other pages they look fine? I think it was the last update Peter spoke of, it must have flaws?

What do you keep your mantids in?

If there's one thing I learned in this world it's "to each his own" and it's not all to hard to just agree to disagree, no need for hard feelings over such a silly subject, with all due respect. I believe were all on the same team? :)

    Excelsior substitue?

Put the filters one at a time spread out, the filters should look pie shaped with a point to stick in.

    Excelsior substitue?

fold in half then again (quartered) stick the point in the media, use 2 or 3 and it will mosty fill a 32oz deli.

Warning to Those with Flying Adult Mantises

Had a male Idolo fly all the way into the other room once, it was hard to find him as he landed in a shoe of all places, my son and I laughed like crazy once we found him peering out of it with a look on his face like "did you see what I just did!".

    Excelsior substitue?

Coffee filters gets the nod. Heavy cardbroard strips is a good 2nd, anything non-toxic that will hold up to moisture and gives a multi climbing surface.

    Annoying thing taken care of!

To each his own for sure, but my point is they've be doing this (mating) for millions of years but you felt the need to physical distort her to make it happen? I've seen a teeny tiny yellow Orchid male find the target even though at first it looked impossible to me, with no help, like 10 times...

    Annoying thing taken care of!

Doesn't sound like a nice thing to do to a mantis Alex, they will mate when the time is right and things are how they want them, why do people think that when they snap their fingers their mantis should mate? It can take time as well as patience... tricks are for kids my friend. So please don't...

    Might be gone a while

I wish you all the best Alex. Most things that go wrong CAN be fixed if you try and have some help along the way.

    Orchid Mating

I'd wait 4 weeks or she will just try and eat the male, she must be receptive.
