Hey! A response! Yes, I will let you know when I think they're ready to ship. Eight hatched out so far, one mortality so far. Feeding them on D. melanogaster. I coulda sworn these were just as sought after as Orchid mantids a 6 months ago, and would have expected more interest. Oh well.

Birdfly, I love the monitors! They look so full of life. How big will they get? I've always wanted to get into monitors, but I don't have the space for one of those 3'-4' adults. Are there any that get to maybe 30 cm - 40 cm or less full grown?

Nymphs are popping out one a day so far it seems (up to 6 so far). Species is totally parthenogenic - all females. Longest mantid native to the US, and a cool looking grass mimick. Just want to see who would be interested. I don't think I'll keep all the offspring, but we'll have to see how...

I have four hatched out over the course of 5 days so far. I really don't know why anyone would toss the egg case away. Just stick it in a small cup and leave it alone. As someone already posted, Yen wrote about having one hatch almost a year after the first hatchling.
