Has not been in culture since that guy had it in Poland I believe. Difficult husbandry I believe last time I contacted him (about a year ago).

    some mantis feeding on roaches

If you keep your wife in the dark on the names or species of animals you work with, you could probably get away with finding some species of roach that you could convince her is a species of large cricket perhaps. And crickets make SUCH a ruckus when they escape. My house sounds like a forest in...

    Orchid oothecae update

Kristen, this might be the most obvious question, but I'll shamelessly ask it anyways: have you waited enough time for the ooths to hatch? Ooths can be screwy and take much longer than the 'norm' to hatch. Rick can chime in on this.

    some mantis feeding on roaches

Easiest things to breed. Just takes time to mature and get a colony going. Don't want to feed too many of roaches that need to one day reproduce. Recommended over crickets in almost every respect. Thanks Yen.

    some mantis feeding on roaches

Nice pictures! Do you feed full sized roaches to all the mantids pictured? I have to use half size lobsters for my Gongylus female, or tear the legs off, because she doesn't like how strong and how much the roach moves its legs. I sent you an email, by the way.

    Forgotten eel dies.

My sandfish skink buries in the sand 99% of the time, and I forget I have it everytime I walk into the animal room. I feel bad sometimes, because nobody wants it, and it won't die! I've had the darn thing for almost 8 years now? It's really a cool animal (quick moving, and swims through the sand...

    Theopropus elegans

I remember someone was saying these are supposed to be hard to tell apart from P. oceletta, but, they've definitely got a beautiful tannish/yellowish color to them, and they look beautiful.

Why do the last few pictures look like the mantis is three or four times the size of the original skin?
