    Insects Mantises CANNOT eat?

They can't eat some beetles that are too tough or difficult to grasp.  For example, most darkling beetles give mantids problems.  They either can't bite into them (too hard), or they are so smooth (as some retract their legs and are very round) that they are hard to grasp and chew.

V Flytrap doesn't stay closed to digest the flies

It's not clear if you're feeding live or dead flies, but if feeding dead insects, Aquaticcreature has it right.  However, you can "massage" the trap after it's closed to stimulate the trigger hairs and cause the trap to start to digest.  A simple search for videos will get you exact...

    Hissing Cockroach Breeding Question

It's likely they will breed all on their own.  If it's warm in the room, you won't need a heat mat.  I never used a heat mat, and I was breeding roaches for more than 10 years at normal room temps.  I don't know anything about the heat mat you are referring to that's used for your seedlings, so...

    A Few Quick Ooth Questions

I just got some wild collected Chinese Mantis (Tenodera sinensis) oothecas yesterday, from someone who had them refrigerated and I have a few questions: 1) Can I re-refrigerate some of the oothecas for later hatching, or now (that they've been out of the cold for a few days), would it harm them...

    Mantid Egg Case in Ocotber?

I'd be cool with Japanese Giant or T. angustipennis. :D As for the Chinese Ooths on ebay, if I get a few, can I hatch one while keeping the others in the fridge? If so, what is that process? How long can ooths be kept in the fridge?

Thanks for the responses! If I were to purchase them, would they hatch now, or would I have to wait for winter to pass?
