    Some of my guns

Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 set the standard. Both are reasonably priced, absolutely reliable and are well supported by aftermarket vendors to customize them to your needs.

Thanks. The 1911 was the first gun I bought for myself and it turned out to be a great one.

Then go look at a different thread. It isn't like the subject matter was a secret when you chose to look at this one.

    Orchid Flasking anyone?

No, the heat will cook them and UV is not used in photosynthesis. Standard T8 fluorescent tubes would be a better choice for a budget setup, either "daylight" tubes in the 6500k range or the old school mix of warm white and cool white tubes will work for most plants.

    Making a Flytrap Terrarium HELP!

You are in a great area for carnivores, Flytrap Store is in Ashland, Cook's in Eugene, Sarracenia Northwest in Portland, Willow Creek and Courting Frogs in the Seattle area and California Carnivores is near San Francisco. There are probably some others I am forgetting, there is a very large and...

    Making a Flytrap Terrarium HELP!

That one came from Jerry Addington of Courting Frogs Nursery. He generally does not deal directly with the public but his plants can be bought through Karen at Willow Creek Nursery in Snohomish, WA or a handful of other dealers.

In their native climate they are no more difficult than Sarracenia.

    Making a Flytrap Terrarium HELP!

Not necessarily true, given ScienceGirl's location the water is likely to be safe. I lived in the same are and was quite successful using the local tap water. A TDS meter is a good investment. I took these pics last summer when I was packing for the move. Some are from "reputable growers", some...

    Popa gracilis

The type location for P. gracilis was Malawi, chances are that the Malaysian species you're looking at is not it.

    Jim, the darkling beetle

Superworms are a different species, Zophobas morio, mealworms are Tenebrio molitor. You are thinking of giant mealworms, which are indeed hormone treated Tenebrio and typically do not pupate.

    Orchid Flasking anyone?

Flasking and tissue culture have been an idea I've tossed around for a while but just haven't had a chance to try. I would really like to experiment with Sarracenia TC, the process is still in its infancy and there are only a handful of clones in culture. Depends on the orchid, jewel types like...

    Making a Flytrap Terrarium HELP!

Might have been a problem with their care at the time, or you may have just been seeing the early stages of dormancy. Late in the year they tend to change from an upright growth pattern to a low rosette, the newer traps are often smaller and become "sluggish" as you described. Whatever the case...

3" ought to be fine for those but look at the rhizome when you pull them out, if it is bigger than current growth suggests then feel free to step up a size. They look healthy, get them out in the sun and they should do well for you.
