Never seen a black widow with red on its back. Was sitting down and felt it on my are, looked and knocked it off. Took off up my leg, got it with a towel just in time. Is this male or female? And what type black widow if it is one

What species is it? I dont think light matters for the eyes. I have some of my desert species under arcadia 12% uvb bulbs and they love it.

I actually think its better to feed wild flies cause they have pollen and other good stuff the mantids can obtain from them.

Just curious if anyone does? I now live on a pasture full of cows. There are unlimited amounts of horse flies, cow flies, and bluebottle, green bottle, and house flies. I was wondering if anyone used horse or cow flies before? What was the outcome? I dont think i will ever have to buy a feeder...
