    Heterochaeta orientalis housing / environmentals

As far as I know they  have a wide range for temperature. My room is ~24C most of the time, and they do great, but I have also seen them being kept with Idolomantis in a communal set up too.

    Catasigerpes sp. care?

That I’m not sure, but seeing them in pictures, I think that’s a reasonable estimate 👍🏼

    Catasigerpes sp. care?

This is also an interesting topic, because "boxer mantis" isn't really an actually category. Mantises which are commonly referred to as "boxer mantis" are: Oxypiloidea (catasigerpes), Otomantis, Acromantis, and the are all in the subfamily Acromantinae; at the same time, Astyliasula, Hestiasula...

    Catasigerpes sp. care?

Catasigerpes is actually a sub genus, so it is actually Oxypiloidea (Catasigerpes), and are a flower mantis (in the family Hymenopodidae) They are also not from South America, South America does not have any flower mantises, they are from South Africa~...

    What L?

Pre-sub and sub adults are kinda easy to tell, but those could vary from species to even individual what what instar it is. If the wing buds just molted into resembling a small version of imago wings then it is a pre-sub adult (2 more molts till imago), they generally overlap less. If the front...

Can different colored Mantids of the same species mate?

I hear people argue P illudens is just a synonym of paradoxa, but I'm very skeptical. Two species from the same genus can mate and produce offspring if they are closely related enough, and although a bit rare, sometimes the hybrids can also be fertile. In the jumping spider hobby P. regius x P...

    Hard to acquire species.

Looks like you’re in luck! Currently many people are in the hobby working on most of those species you mentioned!  Some breeders just have some Stenophyllas mature; just recently got some Empusa Pennata that someone hatched; Many pros working on Choeradodis. Theopompa shows up in the US hobby...

    Breeding & pheromones

What I do is keep the male away from the females' pheromone "Area of Effect" 2-3 days prior to pairing, this supposedly "starves" the male for her pheromones so when you introduce him 2-3 days later he'll be more interested.

    Feeder nematodes

A little update, someone suggested to me that they might be phoronid flys, they lay eggs into poop and other things, and some parasitise insects, like crickets. Make me wonder, I remember seeing some small flies for a while in my room, and also inside of the bin. Makes me wonder, could it be the...
