I believe Casper lived pretty long for a male Orchid. He became an adult 7/23/24 and I found him upside down on the bottom of his enclosure this morning. Unfortunately my female that became an adult a few days ago has no mate.

My spiny flower mantises jump and run after their prey. They are very aggressive.

I have purchased orchid mantises from a couple different sources. I wound up with only one male who got his wings 7/23. My females have been on their subadult stage for a while. I'm hoping to purchase another subadult or a little younger male. Thank you for any leads. Sincerely, Barb

I have never heard of any or seen any mantises in Alaska. I am in south central Maybe in south east but I doubt it.

I am Barb Penyak. I breed ball pythons and am starting to try to raise mantises as well. I have ghosts, flower (creobroter apicalis), spinys, a blue giant asian (recently purchased that is supposed to be gravid), and 2/ l3 orchids that just got shipped up to me yesterday.
