This was the first time I actually witnessed the molt. It was awesome to see!!

It is very sad! Its also amazing how attached you get to these amazing little creatures. Your good care gave her an extra month of life. That's something to be happy about.

Hello All, Found a baby Chinese mantis in early June in PA. He was about the size of my fingernail. First 2 pics show his size compared to a fruit fly and a 5 year old's hand. He has molted 3 times since then and can now easily eat house flys and small grasshoppers. Second 2 pics are after...

Congrats and happy birthday! That's awesome he went on a bike ride. My Chinese mantid liked to perch on my son's shoulder like a parrot while he walked around the house and even outside without jumping off. Never thought about taking her on a bike ride. Congrats again with Rekka!
