Heat here definitely speeds them up,they seem to eat more and in return it triggers them to molt in shorter periods,as long as they are not too warm I don't think this is an issue,unless you are wanting them to keep longer lol

If you want something similiar to your first then go for the hierodula majs or sphodos as they are very similiar in shape,need and keeping,and won't need specific dryness or heat. There are really great exotics on that list like empussa and gongy though but you would really have to watch how...

If you leave out some fruit mash or even break up other small insects you will be able to catch some wild fruitflies and or supplement your tiny mantis with small pieces of larger insect goo if its willing to take it from you,helps to put this on say a bobby pin or something small,I hand fed...
