    Moldy fruit flies?

I agree completely with all of the above. For my colonies, I took some aquarium tubing (not sure of the diameter, but it's the same as the little mini holes in the fruit fly lids) cut away some of the lid to expose a hole, put the tube in and hot glued the tubing on. Then I just plug the...

    New Drosophilia culture!

These definitely aren't hover flies; the maggots make craters in the medium, as to why I don't know. It looks more like swiss cheese. I'll be breeding the babies together for completely flightless and normal hets, but to get rid of the ones that can fly I'll be letting them go (literally) and...

    New Drosophilia culture!

Well, I gathered up some pupas I found in the fall, and I started a colony of local Drosophilia species! They're way to big to be melanogaster; they have tiger stripes on their abdomens as well. Whatever they are, they produce like MAD. I have a hard time keeping them all in their container, so...

    Harlequin Roaches

I have worked a little with this species before. Keep them nice and warm with very high humidity, and feed them a varied diet of fruits, veggies, dog food, and whatever else you can find. They are glass climbers so they need a barrier. A lot of people have trouble getting them to stay alive...

Keeping tons o' baby Crickets - HELP

Hmm... All I can recommend is to give them a good moisture source. I can never keep the little buggers alive... Hence why I switched to roaches. :)

Best place to get good feeder roaches?

Dubias are better for mainstream herps like beardies. The other species, like lobsters, are better for smaller species.

    First time seeing a mantid

It was at my grandpa's house. We were walking on a nearby grass-covered hill when my dad said he saw something jump. After a few minutes of frantically hurrying through the grass he netted my first praying mantis. I'm pretty sure it was a male. :)

Best place to get good feeder roaches?

You can't go wrong with Blatta lateralis or Nauphoeta cinerea. Both produce rapidly, are easy to keep, and both are very soft. However, both are escape artists, however the N. cinerea are easily stopped with a barrier. B. lateralis need a humid environment because they lay egg cases; N. cinerea...

Best place to get good feeder roaches?

I can supply you with roaches if you need them. They DEFINITELY have the potential to have more protein and more nutrients than crickets, however, you have to feed them well. They do have a higher-meat-to-shell ratio off the bat though, which means more protein per gram of roach ingested as...
