Well just like the title say, i have a few acanthops falcata and i cant tell which is which. They both have 6 segments, the only difference i can tell is that one is huge and eats alot and one is thin and eats very very little... Maybe someone can tell, because i took horrible pictures...

they are wild insects, Ive ran out of food and have mantis live TWO weeks without food. In the wild they would have to wait for food no? and flies arent alwaz ALL over place no? mantis are made to wait a very long time without food, they are pouncers not prey. No need to worry really.

Most likely a Stagmomantis Limbata, and to be it looks like a female nymph. Once other take a look at this thread they can say other wise, but i know thats the only wild(in the city) mantis i know of in cali.
i handle mine everyday, sometimes i let them roam my room(for stray food if you know what i mean ;) ). Unless you squash them or throw them or something aggressive i dont think to much is bad... probably make um more hungry =P from the work out.
just so you know, becuase its a male and an adult male, itll eat like 1 large cricket a week, male adults eat almost nothing compared to females. Thats probably why you noticed its not eating, its normal for males and it looks pretty =)
