    Free chinese mantis

Hi, if you still have some left next week we can release some in my yard. I think it might be cool to release them right before you turn the lights on so you can watch them run around and feed on the bugs atracted to it all night :P

    Capturing crickets and butterflies

Its funny how most the mantid people say its fine to feed them wild caught insects but if you asked on a tarantula forum you would get the total opposite response, they will tell you you should never do it and your risking parasites or poisoning your pets. I will feed wild caught insects to my...

    Assassin bugs in Texas

Ya I found out last night that the first one is a type of leaf footed bug, I thought it was an assasin cause of the way its mouth parts look. I also found some of what Im pretty sure are wheelbug nymphs.

    Moldy fruit flies?

Ive noticed that without good enough ventilation mold always shows up, so sometimes if I just add a few pinholes it can help stop it before it gets to bad. The cultures I see at the petshop in those vials with caps on them always have mold in them but the mold goes away within a couple days once...

    Spider Pharm on Discovery Channel

Awsome, thx for letting us know Yen! As soon is it warms up outside Im gonna be breeding flys so maybe I can get some good tips from the show. I would think a culture made of dead bug parts would be pretty gross, I wonder how they keep mites and stuff like that out of it.
